How do you take action and be more mindful with those

When working with our patients, we may observe the following.

1 Some folks are really great at processing external objective data, and take action based on that.  They are very practical and goal orientated.

2 Some folks are really great at processing external “feelings/vibes” of others, and take actions based on that.  They are very empathetic and social.

3 Some folks are really great at processing internal objective data from their past experiences and memory, and take actions based on that.  They are very traditional and determined.

4 Some folks are really great at processing internal “values/feelings/vibes”, and take actions based on that.  They are more focused on authenticity, and living life true to their values and who they are.

Everyone seems to have a “blind spot”. One can recognize our “blind spot” when we tend to use a particular method in a more reactive/impulsive way, rather than in a more mindful, and helpful way.

Which one/s are yours?

In counseling, we help folks to work on one or more of those, with no.4 often the most difficult for many.

Why?

I suspect that our schools and homes are not great at teaching no.4.  What are our values, and how we can live life more congruent with those.....
