How does one measure one's significance?

What is significance?

How significant do you feel?

From 0-10, 0=worthlessness and 10=I am enough, how would you rate yourself?

Most of us measure our significance through our:
  • Achievements
  • Wealth
  • Looks
  • Likability
  • How much we can be of service to others

However, is this the best way to measure our significance taking into account that looks, wealth and achievements can be very fleeting?   Measuring our sense of self worth from achievements is good in the sense that it will motivate us to achieve.  Measuring our self worth from our looks will motivate us to look after ourselves.  However, using these as measures of our self worth will make us vulnerable because not all the time, we can look good or achieve.

Consider measuring one's significance through authenticity and growth in addition to the above, as through authenticity and growth, we will have a more stable perception of significance, and self worth.

Once our perception of significance is improved, we will see the world in a more positive light, and most importantly, it will help us improve our relationships with ourselves, and others.
